Objectives

  • Understand the basic concepts of Human Factors (HF) in the whole organisation.
  • Take account of HF in event analyses.
  • Be able to analyse your organisation’s safety culture.

Audience & Prerequisites

Ideally aimed at people in charge of safety management, this course is accessible to a wide audience with a good knowledge of Safety Management System. It develops knowledge that can be applied in all areas of high-risk activities where humans play a central role in safety performance.

Multinational course, English intermediate level (B1/B2).

 

Course content

  • Human performance: the place of human resources in socio-technical systems, cognitive, psycho-sociological and sociological
    factors.
  • Managing stress and fatigue.
  • Situational awareness and decision-making.
  • Teamwork, co-activity, coordination, cooperation, communication.
  • HFACS model (Human Factors Analysis and Classification System).
  • Biases in the sociology of organisations.
  • HF module can be usefully complemented by the Fatigue Risk Management System course.

Duration: 27 hours.
