Objectives

  • Be familliar with practical helicopter accident investigation techniques, regulations, preliminary measures, and causes identification.
  • Understand the investigation process and the role of stakeholders.
  • Be able to contribute to an air safety investigation..

Audience & Prerequisites

This course is aimed at civilian and military personnel performing investigation functions: investigation boards, operators, designers, manufacturers, safety authorities, etc.
Aeronautical operational experience is recommended.

Multinational course, English intermediate level (B1/B2).

Course content

  • Basic safety concepts and regulations.
  • Preliminary measures and general organisation of an investigation.
  • On-site and wreckage investigations and
    protection.
  • Investigation of technical factors: recorders, examination of systems and instruments, engines, fire exam, failure factors.
  • Visit to a safety investigation board.
  • Practical exercises and case studies.
