To have a good understanding of Communications – Tactical Data Links means, to be able:
- to manage TDL integration into the air defense chain
- to master operational messaging
- to use authentication means
- to discover TDL functioning and ops preparation
- to create and conduct offensive and defensive missions (air operations mission) using standard procedures
- to master communication operational systems.
Audience & Prerequisites
Minimum 5 year-operational experience.
Air Force profiles: Pilot, Weapons Systems Officer, Intelligence Officer, Fighter Controllers, Ground Based Air Defense.
However, this course can be attended with much benefit by Navy and Army officers as well.
English intermediate level (B1/B2).
Batch of min. 4 trainees and max. 8 trainees.
Location: Mont-de-Marsan AFB 118.
Course content
The “Communications – Tactical Data Links” Course (3 weeks) is designed to provide appropriate global knowledge to the different Air Force profiles involved in Air Operations, such as Chief Controllers, Weapons Director, Air Battle Manager, Fighter Controllers…
The training covers a theoretical and a practical part.
- Academics: Tactical Data links, Code words, Communication security, Authentication means, TDL Net construction, C2 vs non-C2, Identification means.
- Simulation: The last part of the training is dedicated to understand how to prepare an offensive mission using Communications means in an appropriate manner.
