Objectives
The objective of this course is to put into perspective the vulnerabilities of a helicopter facing missiles threats. This course enables the Trainees to consider EW threat from mission preparation brief up to the flight.
During the course, Trainees will participate to simulated flights in order to perform an EW and threats mission debriefing.
Audience & Prerequisites
Designed for crewmembers and/or EW specialists (at least one helicopter pilot)
English intermediate level (B1/B2).
Good knowledge in science and electronics
Mini-Maxi: 2-4 trainees.
Course content
- Survivability for helicopters: analysis of recent operations and lessons learned.
- Infrared, ultraviolet, laser and optical theories.
- Electro-Optical field and associated EW techniques.
- Laser jamming.
- General information on missiles and missile detectors.
- General information on chaff and flare dispensers.
- Practical examples with Computer Based Training (CBT) tools
- Programming methodology for EW equipment.
- Simulated helicopter fligh
t to perform some evasive maneuvers face to a threat.
The training can be tailored to meet the customer’s specific requirements (contents / duration).
