Objectives

This training is a prerequisite to following the full master course on defense acquisition delivered by the DCI Defense Acquisition Management Institute (DAMI). It has been developed by DCI experts based on the most demanding standards of the French Defense Acquisition Agency (DGA).

Audience & Prerequisites

This training is specially designed for all category of people involved in a defense acquisition process, staff officers, program directors, project leaders, managers, subject matter experts and assistants. A fair knowledge of the English language is a prerequisite.

Course content

Overview of the whole defense acquisition process from program initiation to equipment disposal

Description of three essential phases of the process:

1. Collection of the need: capture of the operational needs through the development of concept of operations (CONOPS).

2. Definition of technical requirements: translation of the operational needs into technical specifications in preparation for procurement.

3. Equipment acceptance: implementation of the acceptance process of the equipment prior to their transfer to the armed forces.
